Proposed Packet loss compensation algorithm

The method that we propose is a receiver based speech PLC algorithm. The block diagram is as shown below. The speech frames are received and due to time varying nature of the channel, time delay and jitter, the received speech frames suffer packet loss. Linear prediction of speech is used to linearly extrapolate the speech features transmitted from the best-received speech frames prior to the lost frame. Say for example, ith frame is lost, the speech features received in the i-1 frame are extrapolated to effectively reconstruct the speech frames, which are loss. The following block diagrams describe the receiver implemented in Matlab and the proposed algorithm. For each of the speech PLC algorithm, the SNR is calculated by using the following equation. Sweeping the % of packet loss as shown in Fig 10 also generated the SNR curves
